Passionate about art!
Resident artist Meg Finnegan is a passionate artist! Her diversity of art is inspired by the coastal environment, textures and form along with the availability of materials that can potentially be recycled.
Her unique creations are a combination of clay (thrown, hand built), metals, water & slumped glass and are seen throughout “Limestone” in various areas of the gallery, café and landscaped gardens.
Working with ceramics and copper lead to a progression into glass, this blends beautifully with copper. Meg has pursued this for many years and found that paper clay was also a great combination with copper. They are truly remarkable pieces. Fire, silica, copper and lots of manual labour bring her artwork together in a renewed life which gives me the opportunity to create very individual works of art.
The gallery proudly showcases other renowned local artists such as David Higgins, Peter Chamberlain, Kara Leo Mitchell, John Whitlock, Tony Ashby, Claudia Haenel, Gillie & Marc, Jeanie Gleeson and talented artists.
You can find beautiful silk printed scarfs, local scenic photographs printed onto metal, paintings, etchings, quirky clay sculptures throughout the gallery and cafe. It’s a pleasure to be amongst such creativeness.
You should not miss Limestone Gallery and Café when you visit Port Fairy.
