Limestone Gallery and Café is a family owned business.
The dream of Limestone Gallery began over 10 years ago when Meg and her husband Gavin Finnegan, had a vision to design and build an art gallery that incorporated a Café. For five years that searched for the perfect location and when they came across the property in Port Fairy they were excited as they could start to see their vision come to life.
Meg stated "It was a long and hard journey to get here. Although we had a lot of fun and enjoyment along the way and goes without saying a lot of blood, sweat and tears also went into the planning, designing and creating, just bringing it all together."
In December 2015, The Limestone Café opened offering delicious menus for breakfast and lunch. It also hosted its first wedding in early 2016.
For the past four years Limestone has operated as a working studio and gallery. Local artists can use the space for exhibitions and some use it as their creative workshop.
Meg and Gavin are both very passionate people and say that there is a lot more to come to Limestone Gallery and Cafe… the story has just began.
“In the hustle & bustle of a Port Fairy summer, the Limestone gallery & cafe was a breath of fresh air. With two young children, going out for a meal is hard to do with a relaxed disposition, albeit this place is an exception. I enjoyed a perfect coffee & scrumptious meal while my almost 3y.o roamed in the garden & my baby slept in the pram in the spacious outdoor area. Surprisingly 2.5 hrs passed with contentment from all of us. Great dream turned into reality Finnegans, we will definitely be back.” - Regan Luhrs
“Looking forward to catching up for brunch, Congratulations Meg & Gavin beautiful sculptures, great art, fantastic cafe and amazing gardens ideal venue for Weddings and a must see for anyone passing through or staying in Port Fairy”. - Pam Ashby
